Dr. Afra Atiq is an Emirati award-winning poet, scholar, and teaching artist. She holds a PhD in Media and Creative Industries from UAE University, as well as a Master’s degree in diplomacy. Her internationally-published research focuses on the literary ecosystem, and sheds light on the role of social media within the literary sector and creative industries. Her artistic work explores a broad range of topics which include heritage, culture, and legacy. She writes and performs in a blend of English, Arabic, and French. She has been featured on numerous international and national stages, including the Dubai Opera and Louvre Abu Dhabi. Dr. Atiq is a founding member of Untitled Chapters – a community for Emirati women writers.
