After studying at the Inchbald School of Design, Kamelia Zaal returned to Dubai where she began her career as a freelance garden designer until she established, Second Nature - now known as Kamelia Landscape Design - in 2006. Zaal specalizes in boutique commercial projects and high-end residential villas, and is best known for creating the botanical surroundings and themed gardens of the Al Barari Development in Dubai.

Zaal's real passion lies in Islamic garden design, and she has won a silver gilt medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for her garden “The Beauty of Islam”, in 2015. In 2016, she won another prestigious Silver Gilt medal at the Gardening World Cup in Japan for her garden, "The Seal of the Prophets".
